What is the Evaluation Support Program?

About Us The approach of the Pro Bono Evaluation Support Program is to develop a partnership between evaluators and the nonprofit organization. Through the application process, nonprofit organizations are matched with evaluators whose expertise best matches the organization's needs. Throughout the course of the project, nonprofit staff work jointly with the volunteer evaluators to meet project objectives. They provide critical input and in-depth knowledge about their programs to develop the project plan and work collaboratively to carry out these plans to increase evaluation capacity within their organization. | Nonprofit Participant Testimonials “I had such a wonderful experience working with my volunteer evaluators, they were very engaged in my non-profits work and provided expert knowledge and input. Evaluation Projects
AaEA Pro Bono Support Program volunteer evaluators can help with partial evaluation projects, such as designing evaluations, implementing evaluations, or guiding common evaluation activities, such as:
- Articulating the relationship between activities and intended outcomes (i.e., logic models)
- Identifying the needs of target communities (i.e., needs assessments)
- Assessing readiness for evaluation (i.e., evaluability assessments)
- Developing surveys, interview guides, or other data collection tools
- Facilitating the use of data for program planning
- Leading evaluation trainings for staff
2021 Timeline
June 1 - July 2: Application period
August 2-3: Notification of whether you were matched for the program
August 13: Virtual orientation for volunteer evaluators
August 26: Kick-off event - Attendance is required for volunteers and nonprofits
September - November 2021: Work conducted on an evaluation-related project
January 2022: Present work at Evaluation Showcase Event hosted by AaEA
