The evaluator competencies recently adopted by AEA call on evaluators to find ways to reflect on their practice. But what does that mean? And does it really require practice? AaEA member Sarah Gill has just completed a master's thesis on the topic, and she found many similarities with the concept of evaluative thinking. Come hear what she learned and possibly find some partners with whom to practice. Eager beavers can read the excellent article by Tom Archibald, Leah Neubauer, and Stephen Brookfield in the New Directions for Evaluation volume on evaluative thinking (volume 2018, issue 158) called “The Critically Reflective Evaluator: Education’s Contributions to Evaluation for Social Justice.”  The article provided the framework for Sarah’s thesis; reading ahead is not required, just a bonus. (AEA members have access to the journal.)

The event is free for AaEA members, non-members, and for students/interns/fellows.
