Evaluation has the potential to can contribute to addressing health inequity through how we implement equitable evaluations. Evaluators working to address inequity, social determinants of health, or disparities in general have a shared responsibility to consider how their unique positionality, evaluation methods, and findings impact evaluation practice. This session will take an introspective look at building health equity evaluation capacity, changing evaluation discourse around root causes of structural inequity, and the development of measures and tools that can be used to assess inequity. Specifically, we will engage in reflective practices, highlight case examples of evaluating health equity, and identify equity trainings and resources utilized by evaluators to influence evaluation practice. Most importantly this discussion emphasize a shared learning experience to garner communal knowledge and skills that can contribute to the evaluation field.
