In this webinar, we will discuss the nuts and bolts of EAGs on four themes: purposes, structures, processes, and pitfalls. The speakers will present insights from a review and synthesis of the EAG literature and illustrate with their own real-world experiences of developing and implementing EAGs on a state-wide scale, in a university setting, and within a localized health setting. A context-based framework is offered as a starting point for evaluators working with EAGs.

An evaluation advisory group can be a vital resource, particularly for evaluations of collaboration-driven initiatives, but only if we apply skills and knowledge to use them effectively. Initiatives such as those involving large scale system change, service integration, and working across cultures require evaluators to rethink and retool, their approaches. We need to build bridges and capacity with others in order to best understand the impacts of integrated change. Evaluators must be prepared to work with other evaluators as well as those who bring content or context-specific knowledge and experience.

The speakers on this webinar will be Gene Krupa from Catalyst Research and Development Inc. Universities of Alberta and the University of Zambia, Chris Voegeli from the Atlanta-area Evaluation Association,  Margo Schmitt-Boshnick from Aspen Research and Consulting, and Barbara Szijarto from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada

This webinar will be held over Zoom on Thursday, August 22nd, from 3:00 - 4:30 pm EST.

We look forward to having you on the webinar.
