This month the Atlanta-area Evaluation Association journal club will discuss a collection of checklists developed by Learning for Action (LFA) that can support evaluators in integrating equity into their practice. LFA developed the checklists internally drawing from existing resources and their own experiences, which they shared in a 2017 blog post and then recently revisited the checklists in an August 5, 2019 blog post. The checklists cover a range of phases in an evaluation project from project design and planning to report development.
We will use our 20 minutes together to discuss how checklists can be a useful tool for promoting critical reflection towards a more equitable and inclusive evaluation practice. We will consider both what LFA outlines in their blog post and strategies attendees’ have implemented - checklists and anything else.
About the Journal Club:
The journal club meets the third Wednesday of every month at noon to discuss new and innovative evaluation topics.
AaEA’s monthly journal club features an evaluation article from an evaluation journals and the gray literature. The purpose of these meetings is to offer an easy way for people to get a brief review of new topics, tools, and issues in the evaluation community. You are not required to read the article, but try to if you can.
