Are you interested in new ways to develop a cohesive and participatory evaluation plan? Mind mapping is a process for brainstorming, organizing thoughts and visualizing ideas, and can be a powerful tool for facilitating evaluation planning and use. We will highlight many use cases for evaluation (both with and without mind-mapping software), such as brainstorming evaluation questions and indicators, presenting data to stakeholders to promote use, facilitating evaluation planning with stakeholders, building evaluation capacity, analyzing qualitative data, and implementing and managing an evaluation. CDC’s Evaluation Framework has been operationalized in MindManager templates, and we’ll show how we’ve used them for participatory evaluation planning.
Our demonstrations will feature MindManager software, although we will briefly review other software options. In addition, we will demonstrate how software supports exporting to a variety of formats for sharing, and creates efficiencies in project management that support evaluation implementation and allow for a cohesive and detailed visual tool.
The speakers of this session are Nicole Kuiper and Alyssa Jeffers. Nicole is a health scientist at CDC with more than 15 years of experience in public health, and Alyssa is an ORISE fellow at CDC with experience in global program evaluation and contributing to the development of a monitoring and evaluation plan for a network of 26 academic institutions funded to carry out public health interventions focused on chronic illnesses.
