This webinar includes an overview of scholarly work on culturally responsive and equitable evaluation (CREE) and an introduction to the I.M.P.A.C.T. framework originated by the presenters. Each I.M.P.A.C.T. component encourages the evaluator to reflect on how to apply a CREE mindset for evaluative purposes. Learning objectives are: 1) To recognize how cultural responsiveness and social equity can be integral in evaluation planning and design; 2) To use the I.M.P.A.C.T. framework as a community-focused and culturally centered evaluation practice tool. The presenters will combine slides, small-group discussions, and self-reflection exercises to communicate the content and engage participants.

Sharon Attipoe-Dorcoo, Ph.D., MPH, is first and foremost grounded in her cultural identity as a Ghanaian-American and embraces her other intersectional facets of being a wife and mom in her work. She is a former board member and sits on the Education Council of AcademyHealth, author of a children’s book, poet, and consultant. Dr. Attipoe-Dorcoo is a member  of the Advancing Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluation Network and has a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida. As a community scholar-activist, she found her path from engineering to public health and her work involves engaging national mobile clinic programs. The vision for her work is rooted in culturally responsive and equitable tools for co-designing research and evaluation initiatives with communities. As a speaker and facilitator, Dr. Attipoe-Dorcoo has also presented at several conferences, published several articles, chairs and serves as an advisor for a number of entities, and has facilitated a number of trainings.

Norma Martínez-Rubin, M.P.H., M.B.A., began her career as a public health educator and chose independent evaluation consulting as a second career. Her client portfolio is founded on community health, disease prevention, and health promotion programs and projects for immigrant and vulnerable populations. She especially enjoys using culturally responsive evaluation approaches that yield data to inform program planning, development, and service delivery. She has led and contributed to program evaluation for local, regional, national, and international projects. Norma is an active member of the American Evaluation Association having served as Program Co-Chair, Evaluation Use Topical Interest Group, 2012-2014 and Chair, Independent Consulting Topical Interest Group, 2011.
