Intimate Afternoon with an AaEA Independent Evaluator

Hello Evaluation Community! 

Please join Emma Waugh for an afternoon of food, drinks, and discussion. Emma will talk about her trajectory into evaluation, experiences starting out on her own as an evaluator, and share successes, challenges, and insider tips and tricks for executing excellent evaluations and related services for her clients. Ample time will be allotted for discussion, questions, musings, and contemplations about evaluation work from a practitioner and business perspective, and more. 

If you have ever thought about taking on evaluation work and projects that align with your interests and talents, Emma will provide some helpful information on getting started as an "independent" evaluator (recognizing that evaluation work is always a shared effort). Whether you are looking to test out picking up projects and sharing your expertise and evaluation talents as your time allows or are thinking about starting your own evaluation business full-time many helpful resources and ideas will be discussed and shared, as well as ample opportunities to connect with others.  

About Emma Waugh:

Emma Waugh is the founder of Hoehn Public Health Consulting, LLC. Emma founded Hoehn Public Health Consulting with the mission of helping community partners understand, measure, and amplify their impact in the ways that are most meaningful to them.

Emma is a non-Native ally and has extensive experience in Tribal public health focusing on mental health, youth substance abuse prevention, nutrition, and public health infrastructure. Emma believes that the most significant impacts are made when all perspectives and knowledge types are valued. She has led qualitative evaluation and formative research projects, developed comprehensive data systems for quantitative data collection and analysis, and authored executive reports to inform program stakeholders. 

Emma has a Master of Public Health from Emory University. She grew up in a military community in Germany and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
