With the launch of AI and large language models, evaluators have the ability to leverage this technology to support their work. However, ethical and practical use of AI in evaluation has still been largely unresearched, with no clear guidelines to help evaluators decide best practices when choosing to use AI.
Please join us and other evaluators on Wednesday, October 14th, from 12-1pm EST for a virtual journal club with authors, Dr. Sarah Mason and Olivia Melvin, as we discuss a framework they developed, Aiding Evaluator Ethical Decision Making About How and When to Use AI in Evaluation, recently published in the Canadian Journal of Program Evaluation to help with this decision-making. Once on the site, access the pdf.
Our discussion will begin with an introduction of the authors and overview of the article, followed by a discussion. Please feel free to bring real-world projects you may be working on that you'd be open to discussing during the session that we can apply the framework.
